My name is Ashmwe Michelle. I am a 24-year-old Rwandan, currently living in Rwanda. I am a professional basketball player and a junior coach, passionately dedicated to both excelling in my sport and inspiring others to embrace the transformative power of sports.
In addition to my athletic career, I am pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication. I believe that communication is a powerful tool for driving change, and my education equips me with the skills to advocate for the causes I am passionate about. Balancing my academic journey with a professional sports career has taught me discipline, resilience, and the importance of time management.
I have also had the privilege of participating in various pageants, which have been instrumental in shaping my confidence and public speaking abilities. I have represented myself in competitions like Miss Rwanda and Miss Heritage Global. I am proud to have been named among the top five finalists in the Rwanda Global Top Commercial Models competition. These experiences have given me a platform to amplify my voice and promote the values I hold dear.
One of my greatest passions is my project, “Empowering Women Through Sports.” This initiative focuses on encouraging women and girls to participate in physical activity and sports. Through this project, I aim to foster confidence, leadership, and teamwork while challenging societal stereotypes. My vision is to create safe spaces where women can thrive, excel, and build their potential both on and off the field.
I am deeply committed to using my platform and experiences to inspire others and contribute to the empowerment of women. Through my work in sports, education, and advocacy, I strive to leave a positive and lasting impact on my community and beyond.
