Miss Africa Morocco
I am Soukaina Chouad and I’m 19-years-old. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Sciences and I am currently studying tourism.
Why are you competing for Miss Africa Calabar 2020?
I’m not competing in particular here, my aim to show the world what true modeling can be like as well as give different and new standards for this business. It’s true that I want to win but what is really important to me is to show what I have already achieved just by reaching here and being among these beautiful girls. It wasn’t easy for a little girl like me because of where I came from. Women struggle a lot and face so many obstacles especially in places that are far from the cities. I’m here to show them how far powerful feminists can go.
What solution would you offer for the challenges Africa is facing in terms of the COVID 19 pandemic and other health, governance, and environmental issues?
The best way to deal with the challenges that Africa is facing with regards to COVID 19 is definitely through the media. They need to convince the citizenry by showing them the worst that has already happened in other countries and use those as case studies.
When it comes to other health issues that Africa is facing, I believe that education will be important in raising the next generation’s awareness and making them ready to combat even the worse scenarios.
What would you do with the prize money should you win and what project would you take on to impact Africa at large?
Winning the prize money from the competition will allow me to make my dreams come true. I have already been working on some of them such as continuing my studies and helping others to make their dreams come true.
