ZIMBABWE, Anelisiwe Ndebele
I am assertive and have ambitions to strive in a ‘man’s world’. I believe in empowering myself so that l can be an inspiration to many young women. I believe in a better tomorrow where everyone is accorded education to ensure a successful tomorrow.
What makes you unique?
My passion for other people around me. I grew up in a community where sharing and giving was the most important aspect of our daily routine. And so I take that with me everywhere I go. I give away at least three-quarters of salary away every month.
What is your understanding of the theme “Africanism”?
Africa embodies human virtues such as love, compassion, unity; they are an intrinsic part of society. Given the fact that Africa is considered the third world, being united means that we are able to share ideas and develop together. We should be moving together as one and not leave anyone behind.
What will you do with the prize money if you win?
I’m proactive and have already been a lifestyle of giving and sharing. I will continue with the projects that I have already been doing. Having access to funding will enable me to touch as many lives as possible. Getting more will allow me to do more.
