Kadijatou is a makeup artist and a young entrepreneur. She is also the founder of Joy’s Beauty Palace, a beauty salon that specializes in beautifying ladies. For her, this initiative is also a way of empowering black women and helping them gain more confidence in themselves through her art.
She describes her uniqueness as her courage and strong will to excel in a world dominated by men, something she treasures and embraces about her.
For her, humanity “is about helping others who are less privileged, vulnerable and have a lesser voice and opportunities. It means caring and helping others whenever and wherever possible. It’s forgetting one’s selfish interests at times when others need help. It’s about extending unconditional love to each and every living being on earth and most importantly letting one’s humanness shine.”
Should she win the prize money, she will initiate a dream that has been in her for the longest time, which is to establish an orphanage to help children who lost their parents due to the natural disaster of the mudslide that happened in Sierra Leone in 2017. She believes that one may not be able to help everybody but they can certainly help someone.
